Ultra-Indie Daily Dose: Don’t Think About Birds In Cloacaphobia

Hello, you glorious gluttons for all things indie horror! Are you just starving for the newest of the new, the most unknownest of the unknown? If so, you’ve come to the right place. Welcome to the Ultra-Indie Daily Dose! In this series, we’re going to pick a new game every day from an indie horror creator you’ve probably never heard of. No million-dollar budgets or factory productions. This is the space for the little guy with not but a developer toolkit and a dream. So if you’re down to roll the dice on something different, then stick around and check it out!

Welcome back for your Daily Dose of indie horror! Today we have Cloacaphobia by the tremendous Azaxor, best known for Last Stop: Station 66 and Crawlerphobia. Previously featured for Black Eyes, today’s game actually has nothing to do with that bit of bird anatomy, so get that out of your brain.

Cloacaphobia means the fear of sewers, and playing it, you’ll soon see why. You play as a cryptic hunter, who is investigating this sewer system for some evidence of this creature. Your character took a wrong turn, fell down a hole, and is now trapped in a labyrinthine underground complex, and the water is rising. Figuratively and literally.

You already know the deal. There’s a creature a-creatching about and it’s gonna try to freak you out and probably succeed. Azaxor is a master of claustrophobic camcorder-vision first-person horror, and Cloacaphobia is a fantastic addition to their collection.
