TLMEA (Short)
Starring Anna Heidigger, Cris Cotzen, H.K. DeWitt
Directed by Kevin Kopacka
Director Kevin Kopacka’s artsy dive down the nine levels of Hell in his 32-minute short film TLMEA is inspired, creepy, and ultimately surreal in nature. Will someone please press the basement button on this elevator to Hades, please? We’ve got some delving to do.
This psychological mind-trip of a quickie follows a drug raid team as they ready themselves for a takedown and on a moment’s notice are thrust down the fiery spiral into each of the nine evil levels. Limbo, lust, animosity, greed, malice, heresy, violence, fraud, and treachery are all represented in differing lights – eerie scenes are presented, and like it or not, we all know what happens on the bottom floor.
It’s one trippy vision that must be seen, and while some could potentially dismiss this as a jumbled interpretation, when you look deep inside it, you can see the inner workings of something that really could be stretched out over the course of a feature film. Well done, Mr. Kopacka – you’ve created something truly frightening.
