Les Emmures, the bassis for Walled InAn odd bit of news to see in the trades this morning, but The Hollywood Reporter got word that Anchor Bay has nabbed the rights to Walled In, a new thriller from Gilles Pacquet-Brenner based on a novel by Serge Brussolo, “the Stephen King of France”.

They also announced the Bay’s acquisition of Chris Sivertson’s The Lost (review), which is old news to us (“The Bay Gets The Lost” – July 2007), but they did say that The Lost would be getting a theatrical run this month followed by a DVD release on March 18th.

Getting back to Walled In, the film is about a demolitions expert (Mischa Barton) who finds some very disturbing things when a building is torn down. The film was shot by friend of the site and La Belle Bete helmer Karim Hussain, who also co-wrote The Abandoned, one of the best of the first year of After Dark Horrorfest films.

Walled In is also looking at a theatrical distribution later this year before it’s DVD release. More as we learn it!
