From White Noise to Black Death

Lena Headey joins Black Death cast!Like most horror fans, I wasn’t the biggest fan of White Noise; it had “safe Hollywood horror” painted all over it from the getgo. Yesterday, however, The Hollywood Reporter got word that White Noise director Geoff Sax is working on a new project that sounds pretty badass.

The cast and story really make this one worth watching; Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings trilogy), Lena Headey (pictured, “Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles”) and Rupert Friend (The Libertine) have all signed on, and wait till you hear what it’s about;

A band of brothers have to join forces to track down a necromancer in a post-apocalyptic medieval world, against the backdrop of the first outbreak of the bubonic plague (also called the black death). Friend will play a monk sent to a village to investigate rumors of the dead being brought back to life, while Bean plays a mercenary priest (!) and Headey will be the village’s matriarch.

Sounds pretty fucking cool to me! Nice to hear about something that has this much originiality coursing through it finally getting made, even with the writer’s strike going on. Keep it here for more Black Death news as we pull it in!
