Another AVP Showdown?

Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem might just kick some assIf Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem is as good as the Brothers Strause are making it sound like it will be we, as fans of monster movies, shall be forever in their debt. And welcome them with open arms to come back for a third movie.

”To us, this is the end of the Earth story,” Brother Colin told Sci Fi Wire, “The next one has got to be in space. You know, the way we kind of end this it’s like, ‘We’re kind of done here.'”

No one would argue that at all; the fact that it takes place on modern-day Earth is annoying enough as it is, which we have Mr. Anderson to thank for. No worries, though; the Brothers did the best they could to get the timeline and logic back on track with the two original franchises; ”Some stuff’s been smoothed over,” Colin continued, “We tried to stay as close as we could, but there’s a few things we had to massage a little bit to kind of make the movie more what we wanted it to be.”

So when would this potential third AVP showdown take place, in terms of the Alien timeline? “It would be nice [if] the next one, maybe, [took place just] before [the events in the original] Alien,” Yes. The future. In space. The way it is supposed to be, damnit.

Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem opens across the country on Christmas Day. Be sure to check out the first five minutes of it on Yahoo Movies UK to psych yourself up and check out the trailer below!
