Personally, I’m almost looking forward to Sweeney Todd at this point, though director Tim Burton does have a habit of being a tad derivative of himself; just the look of the film shows this one’s no different. But I admit, the story fascinates me and we haven’t had a good musical in years.
But enough about me, let’s talk about you. Or more specifically, you watching the opening credits for Sweeney Todd before the movie’s even out in theaters. Broadway World has it for your ocular enjoyment, just get clicking and start digging.
Based on the musical written by Stephen Sondheim, Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd stars Johnny Deep as the titular hairslinger; a man who wants revenge on those who wronged him earlier in life and gets it in the most unusual way with help from Mrs. Lovett (Helena Bonham Carter). It opens everywhere on December 21st.
