CBS Gets Beastly

CBS FIlms gets rights to Beastly, by Alex FlinnCBS Films has nabbed the rights to their first potential movie according to The Hollywood Reporter; the YA supernatural novel Beastly.

No screenwriters are attached yet, of course, but CBS isn’t letting that stop them from attaining their pre-strike goal of having their first film out by the end of 2008. Of course the way the talks have gone with the WGA as of late, who knows if that will even happen…

Beastly is a novel by Alex Flinn about an English teacher who has a spell cast on him by a witch in his class that turns him into a beast at night. Though it may be YA (Young Adult), there’s still a good chance if done right this could have the potential to be cool. We’ll keep our eyes on it and let you know when we have more!
