myers - Halloween 3 ConfirmedIt’s true, kids! The Shape will indeed be stalking the big screen again and all we can do is just wait and see which one of the several storylines he’ll be following…. Which would you wanna see? Another after Rob Zombie’s? Another continuing the Thorn saga? Hell, bring Michael into Silver Shamrock land? A new vision? Sound off!

Confirming a story which originally appeared on Bloody Disgusting, the official Halloween Movies website just issued the following statement:

“As we stated before, we are dedicated to the fans of the Halloween series just as much as we are dedicated to delivering a film that we believe the fans deserve and will, most importantly, love. With that being said, we can confirm that a new installment of Halloween is indeed in on track and moving forward. We are currently developing a script, to finally bring Michael back to the theaters!”

  1. I don’t care which way they go as long as they do the following:
    1. Keep away from Zombie! I love Rob Zombie’s music but he ruined MM in the 2nd Halloween!
    2. Keep all the mystical crap away from him. He is a killer, pure evil, so let him do what he does best!
    3. Can someone explain what the hell the deal was with the cowboy who got him from jail and that damn symbol on his and MMs wrist? That storyline was just cut off with no explanation and it has bothered me for the past 20 years or so!
    4. Keep the body count high and don’t make him like Jason or Freddy (no one wants a worm infested joke playing killer! We want to be scared! SO SCARE US!

  2. Keep Zombie’s greasy mitts off these movies, and perhaps do something new with the lore and I Might be interested in this. I have a feeling it’ll be another hack and slash sequel.

  3. I think the direct sequel route is the way to go. Do a direct sequel to the first Halloween. Danielle Harris is a fan favorite, maybe a direct sequel to 4 or 5. The last Texas chainsaw movie was pretty bad, but the direct sequel approach wasn’t the reason why.

No sequel to Rob Zombies films. I liked his take on the material personally, but it would be wrong to make a sequel to his films without his input. That, and a lot of people hated his movies, so it’s a lose lose either way you go on that.

  4. No 3D, please. It works for something like Final Destination or F13, but its inappropriate for Halloween. And for christ sake, don’t do a continuation of
Zombie’s films. Just do a standalone story. By this point, the character is
well known enough we don’t need direct ties to one continuity or another. The key is to make it atmospheric and scary; if they can make the Joker scary after being around for 75 years they can sure as hell make Michael scary again.

    • I like the idea of a stand alone that isn’t connected to any continuity. Just have Michael show up in Haddonfield (again) and have him do what he does best.
