New ‘He’s Watching’ Trailer Is Found Footage Hell

He's Watching

Jacob Aaron Estes‘ found footage nightmare He’s Watching is a family affair. It started as a way to cope with the pandemic and what resulted is an experimental found footage fever dream that burrows its way into your brain. Estes wrote the film with his daughter, Iris, who stars in the film alongside her brother Lucas. It’s intimate, scary, and feels a little too real especially in how it handles a pandemic.

In He’s Watching:

Two happy-go-lucky siblings who are left alone while their parents recover from an illness play a series of pranks on each other. The game becomes nightmarish when they realize something sinister is watching them, and it wants to play, too.

Dread Central’s Chad Collins said of the film:

As a touchstone in the contemporary resurgence of found footage, however, He’s Watching is a success. Frightening, hallucinatory, and tenderly composed as a family affair, it’s not only a distinct found footage entry. It’s one of the best the subgenre has seen in years.
