Community’s Joel McHale Set to Beware the Night

A release date of January 16, 2015, has been granted to the next film from director Scott Derrickson, entitled Beware the Night, but we have some more casting news for you right now. We are good like that!
THR reports that “Community” star Joel McHale (pictured) is in final negotiations to join Eric Bana in Beware the Night, Screen Gems’ Jerry Bruckheimer-produced supernatural thriller. Sean Harris, who appeared in Prometheus and is a regular on “The Borgias,” is also joining the cast. They join the previously announced Edgar Ramirez and Olivia Munn.
In the flick Bana plays an Irish Catholic cop working a case when he meets a renegade priest (Ramirez). Despite the cop’s beliefs, he’s convinced by the priest that there is a demonic element, and together they work to solve the case and combat the paranormal forces working against them. Munn plays the cop’s wife, who also has a tie to the case. McHale is to play Bana’s partner, while Harris will portray a possessed soldier.
Screen Gems is hoping this will blossom into a franchise.
