Lee Williams Joins Simeon Halligan's White SettlersAs promised yesterday when announcing the new UK thriller White Settlers from director Simeon Halligan and writer Ian Fenton, the film’s lead actor has been selected, and we have all the details right here.

World famous model/actor Lee Williams (pictured; “The Tudors,” The Forsythe Saga,” “Hotel Babylon”) will be co-starring in the film alongside Pollyanna McIntosh (The Woman).

Director Halligan, along with producer Rachel Richardson-Jones, runs Grimm Entertainment, a vehicle for distributing new genre films in the UK and around the world. They are also the brains behind GrimmFest – Manchester, England’s annual cult and horror film fest – where White Settlers will premiere this October. White Settlers will be released through their production company Not a Number.

Richardson-Jones enthuses: “It’s been a dream of mine to create a mini Hollywood style studio here in Manchester. I’m thrilled to say Bafta-nominated writer Ian Fenton’s White Settlers is the perfect first movie to kick off with – the first of a full slate of genre movies that we plan to finance and produce over the next few years.”

With a film crew combining the industry’s finest: Keith McNamara in the camera department (Gladiator, Casino Royale), Paul Boyce on make-up (Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows, War Horse), and Line Producer Charles Bates (Tyrannosaur) – White Settlers is set to go BIG so be sure to keep it here for more as it comes.

Synopsis:
It’s Ed and Sarah’s first night at their new home, an isolated farmhouse on the Scottish border. This should be a new beginning away from their stressful London lives. And at first it is as they enjoy supper al fresco at sunset and a riverside skinny dip. But as darkness falls, things become eerie. Sarah suspects they’re not alone; Ed goes to investigate, and the evening swiftly becomes a nightmare. It dawns on them that they do not belong there. And they certainly aren’t welcome either…

White Settlers comes on like a supernatural terror ride with the classic ‘bumps in the night’ scenario of floorboard creaks and shadows. But the moment Ed tells a genuinely frightened Sarah to get a grip, the film bluntly changes direction. And here is where the game changes. Think Straw Dogs meets Sinister.

This really could happen to you.
