‘Sucker for Love’: You, Too, Can Date An Eldritch Horror In This New Game

Have you ever dreamed of caressing the shining tentacles of Cthulu? Well, Dread XP’s newest game Sucker For Love: First Date will get you one step closer to checking that off your bucket list.
You play as an occultist obsessed with ancient rituals. Once you finally obtain a strange, bright-pink Necronomicon, you’re able to perform only one ritual; the rest looks like total nonsense. After you recite the proper words, you inadvertently summon Ln’eta, a cute Cthulhu-like girl. She agrees to a kiss, on the condition that you perform a few rituals from the book for her first. But looking back at the Necronomicon, all of the other pages suddenly make sense?
Developed by Akabaka, players got a glimpse into this terrifyingly adorable world in the second Dread X collection. Now, the developer is working with Dread XP to bring us even more of a game that would make the Great Old Ones themselves proud. Sucker for Love: First Date is modeled like a dating simulator and visual novel, so it’s primarily text-based. Each decision you make can significantly alter how the game ends. You can woo Ln’eta or two other eldritch cuties: Estir (inspired by Hastur from The King In Yellow) and Nyanlathotep (inspired by Nyarlathotep from Nyarlathotep).
But this isn’t just about romancing Elder Gods and getting those primo eldritch smooches. No, there are much more dire consequences weaved into Sucker For Love. These gods demand sacrifices, after all.
