We all SCREAM for the SCREAM Franchise Reboot: Production For The Newest Entry Is Complete

Scream directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (Ready or Not, V/H/S, Southbound) shared posts this week on social media that has sent Scream franchise fans over the moon: Production is 100% done!

We will also see Neve Campbell as Scream franchise final Girl extraordinaire Sidney Prescott. David Arquette and Courteney Cox return as Dewey Riley and Gale Weathers; also Marley Shelton returns as Scream 4 character Deputy Judy Hicks. We will also see new cast members Jack Quaid (“The Boys”), Melissa Barrera (“In The Heights”) and Jenna Ortega (“You”).

Scream will follow a woman returning to her home town to try to find out who has been committing a series of vicious crimes. If we continue along dearly departed Randy’s horror franchise logic, this may prove to be the most unpredictable and shocking series entry we have ever seen.

Will we see a killer continuing to punish Sydney for the sins of her mother? Another clout chaser attempting to villainize horror movies? Will skeletons continue to spill out of the Prescott family closet? Is Gail Weathers donning the Ghostface mask, creating a new best-seller? Is Dewey be the man behind the mask? Will he get the chance to Avenge Tatum’s death and get revenge for all the times he has been brutalized by someone wearing that dime-store costume?

Chad Villella of Radio Silence (Ready or Not, V/H/S, Southbound) produced Scream, joined by Kevin Williamson who returned to the franchise in the role of Executive Producer.

The production team all have started the hashtag #ForWes, in their posts paying homage to the horror mastermind responsible for all the entries to the Scream franchise to date; not to mention his contributions to the horror genre as a whole.
