The CW Developing Series Based on Stephen King’s REVELATIONS
The CW is developing a one-hour drama based on Stephen King’s short story The Revelations of Becka Paulson dubbed Revelations.
Written by Maisie Culver, it begins after Paulson accidentally shoots herself in the brain with a nail gun and is recruited by an over-it Jesus to be his “chosen one” in stopping the apocalypse. In order to save the world, Becca will have to prove that our deeply backward planet Earth is redeemable — starting with her quirky midwestern hometown.
Culver (Last Man Standing) will co-executive produce this series while Katie Lovejoy (Dead Inside, Miranda’s Rights) will executive produce.
The Revelations of Becka Paulson was originally published in the July/August 1984 issue of Rolling Stone. The titular character and most of the plot later appeared in The Tommyknockers as a subplot.
The story was adapted into a The Outer Limits episode in 1997, directed by Steven Weber (The Shining) with Catherine O’Hara (Beetlejuice).
