TEXAS FRIGHTMARE 2020 is Canceled; 2021 Dates Announced

Originally slated for May and later postponed until September, the 15th Annual Texas Frightmare Weekend horror festival has been canceled. Organizers broke the news this weekend, but the bad news was tempermed by the announcement that a new date has already been set for 2020. Find out when the 15th Annual Texas Frightmare Weekend is happening in the official statement below.

First of all I want to thank you for your patience as we all navigate through these difficult times. It has been overwhelming to see your huge outpouring of support for Texas Frightmare Weekend. When we started the event back in 2006 we were simply a bunch of horror loving nerds that wanted to bring something special to Texas. Over the years your support kept us going. We saw the event grow into something that we never imagined possible. More importantly it became a family. We know so many of you feel the same way and that means more to us than anything else. Thank you for being our family. We are forever grateful!

I also want to thank you for your patience. I know that many of you are worried about what the future will bring. As we get closer and closer to our September 11-13, 2020 event it has become abundantly clear that due to the COVID-19 pandemic this will be the first year that there will not be a Texas Frightmare Weekend. We have been forced to cancel our September event due to situations beyond anyone’s control. Due to this situation of force majuere we’re making the decision to postpone the event in the best interest of our attendees, vendors, staff, volunteers, guests and hotel staff. The health and safety of everyone involved is so much more important than any event. Additionally, international travel is not possible and even state to state travel puts a burden on travelers when returning to their homes due to quarantine requirements.

Therefore, we’ve decided to postpone the event to April 30-May 2, 2021. This date has been contracted for at least two years so we felt it would be best to simply move the event to this date.

➡️ TICKETS

1. KEEP YOUR TICKETS All tickets and merchandise will still be valid for the new dates. Additionally, we’ve also decided to make all tickets that are not used in 2021 valid for our 2022 event. No further action will be required from you in either case. This will be automatic for ALL tickets as long as they are not scanned at a previous event. With the state of events at this time it’s likely that ticket prices will increase. Keep your tickets and keep the low prices locked in.
2. TRANSFER YOUR TICKETS Just log in to your Growtix account to change the name on your tickets to a friend or family member.
3. SUBMIT A REFUND REQUEST If you need a refund please contact us via this link on our website. Please be patient as our response could be slow: https://www.texasfrightmareweekend.com/contact/

➡️ PHOTO OPS

Photo ops are purchased directly from Wolf Studios Photography. They have a no refund policy. We can not issue refunds on their behalf. You may contact them at Wolf Studios Photography.

➡️ HOTELS

The Hyatt Regency will be canceling all reservations. Cancellations will begin Monday July 20th. You will receive an email confirmation from the Hyatt Regency. As much as they would love to just move your reservations they simply do not have the staff do so at this time. Additionally, many reservations have outdated credit and other info on file. If you would like to reserve a room for our 2021 event you can do so here: (make sure to select the correct check-in/check-out dates it will show unavailable) https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/group-booking/DFWAP/G-TXFM

PLEASE! Do not call the hotel directly with any questions. Due to the pandemic they are very understaffed and will not be able to field any phone calls. If you absolutely need to call the Hyatt Regency please call the corporate number at 1-888-591-1234 and refer G-TXFM (group code).

If you made reservations at one of our official overflow hotels (listed at this link https://www.texasfrightmareweekend.com/location) then your reservation will be canceled. Any hotels not on this page are not included. You will need to change your reservations directly with that property if they are not on that page.

Official overflow hotel reservations will be available soon.

➡️ GUESTS

The good news is that with the date shift we are now able to confirm that most of our guests have confirmed their availability. This includes several that had not yet confirmed for our September event. Additionally, other guests have expressed interest in our 2021 event. So, expect some brand new announcements in the coming months., Please visit the guest page to see the updated list: https://www.texasfrightmareweekend.com/guests

Thank you all for your continued patience as we navigate these difficult situations. Your support is appreciated now more than ever.
