Video: Convincing Fan Theory Suggests Scooby-Doo is an Alien!

The latest Scooby-Doo movie, Scoob!, is now available to stream. You can even tune in to a virtual watch-party today at 4 PM (PST) (details below).

But before you dive into this latest installment, you might want to investigate a compelling fan theory: Scooby-Doo is an alien!

That’s what the folks at The Film Theorists are purporting–and they’ve put in the effort to make such a shocking claim. They’ve explored the entire 51-year canon of Scooby-Doo including all 14 series and 36 movies. That’s a lot of mystery solving!

Not convinced? Give The Film Theorists’ video a spin below.

In short: Scooby-Doo is an Anunnaki, a group of deities who appear in the mythological traditions of the ancient Sumerians, Akkadians, Assyrians, and Babylonians. The Anunnaki have no physical form and must inhabit the bodies of animals. If you’ve watched Ancient Aliens, you know that many believe these “deities” are actually extraterrestrials.

Of course, the fact that Scooby is a talking dog should be our first clue that he’s more than just a dog, am I right?

Check out the trailer and synopsis for Scoob! below.

Synopsis:
With hundreds of cases solved and adventures shared, Scooby and the gang face their biggest, most challenging mystery ever — a plot to unleash the ghost dog Cerberus upon the world. As they race to stop this global dog-pocalypse, the gang discovers that Scooby has a secret legacy and an epic destiny greater than anyone could have imagined.

Scoob! is directed by Tony Cervone and stars Will Forte, Mark Wahlberg, and Jason Isaacs.
