This Day in Horror History: Happy Birthday Jennifer Rubin
Jennifer Rubin was an established model and commercial actress before landing a role in her first feature film. She played kick-ass Taryn in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors: Instant horror icon status!
Synopsis:
During a hallucinatory incident, young Kristen Parker (Patricia Arquette) has her wrists slashed by dream-stalking monster Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund). Her mother, mistaking the wounds for a suicide attempt, sends Kristen to a psychiatric ward, where she joins a group of similarly troubled teens. One of the doctors there is Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp), who had battled Freddy some years before. Nancy senses a potential in Kristen to rid the world of Freddy once and for all.
In addition to Dread Warriors, Rubin has appeared in the films Bad Dreams, The Crush, Screamers, and Fatal Conflict. She’s also been on popular TV series, including The Twilight Zone (1985), Tales from the Crypt (1989) and The Outer Limits (1995).
