This Day in Horror: Happy Birthday Steven Williams

Born on this day in 1949: actor Steven Williams

With more than one hundred credits to his name, Steven Williams is one of those actors who you probably recognize, but don’t necessarily know his name. His genre career began with small, such as Bar Patron in Twilight Zone: The Movie and Cop #4 in House.

In the early 1990s he got two roles that would solidify him as a genre legend. In Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, Williams played Creighton Duke, a bounty hunter who was convinced that Jason Voorhees wasn’t dead. In The X-Files, Williams played Mr. X, an unwilling informant for Mulder who was left the job after Mulder’s first informant, the far more helpful Deep Throat, was killed.

Other genre roles for Williams include Mike Hanlon’s grandfather in IT (2017) and hunter Rufus Turner in several episodes of Supernatural.
