Bruce Dern Horrifies Family with Thanksgiving Manson Murders Story

Earlier this year, The ‘Burbs star Bruce Dern appeared in writer-director Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. And it looks like the man was thankful for the role this Thanksgiving and – at the dinner table – told his family the entire history of the Manson murders.

His daughter / Jurassic Park actress Laura Dern shared the story on Jimmy Kimmel, saying:

We sit around. My mom brings us to a gratitude prayer and talks about what we’re grateful for and what we wish for on the planet, amongst our family. And then it ends and my dad [Bruce Dern] is like, ‘I dunno what to share.’ Ellery, my son says, ‘Well, Grandpa Bruce, what have you been doing? Share something about your experience.’ He goes, ‘Interesting you bring that up. I just did this Tarantino movie. Do you know the story of the Manson murders?’ And then tells the ENTIRE Manson murders story to my children at Thanksgiving!

Nice. Gotta love Bruce Dern. Speaking of Thanksgiving, how was yours? Any killer conversations ala Dern’s Manson monologue? Let us know below or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!

Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood centered on actor Rick Dalton and longtime stunt double Cliff Booth who happen to live next door to Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate — the filmmaker and budding actress whose futures will forever be altered by the Manson Family.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is written and directed by Quentin Tarantino who also produced along with David Heyman and Shannon McIntosh. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Emile Hirsch, Margaret Qualley, Timothy Olyphant, Austin Butler, Dakota Fanning, Al Pacino, and of course, Bruce Dern. Sony released it into theaters back on August 14, 2019.
