TREMORS Franchise Documentary Coming Soon

Next year marks the Tremors 30th anniversary and today we’re hearing from annoying-ass little Melvin himself, Robert Jayne that there is an anniversary documentary in the works!

Specifically, franchise actor Robert Jayne took to Facebook, writing:

Working with NBC Universal on the “TREMORS” Film franchise anniversary documentary, so amazing how something can sustain through time. BIG event planned for January to celebrate the original film, looking forward to seeing some old friends again… Official Tremors Franchise Fans Tremors Graboid LonePine #tremors.”

Nice! Here’s hoping that the planned franchise documentary is substantial along the lines of Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy and Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th. If so, then bring it on, NBC Universal!

The original Tremors centered on repairmen Val McKee and Earl Bassett who are tired of their dull lives in the small desert town of Perfection, Nev. But just as they try to skip town, they happen upon a series of mysterious deaths and a concerned seismologist studying unnatural readings below the ground. With the help of an eccentric couple, the group fights for survival against giant, worm-like monsters hungry for human flesh.

The Tremors franchise also includes Tremors 2: Aftershocks, Tremors 3: Back to Perfection, Tremors 4: The Legend Begins, Tremors 5: Bloodlines, Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell, Tremors: The Series, and a failed TV reboot starring Kevin Bacon (Friday the 13th).

And let’s not forget the upcoming seventh film Tremors: Island Fury.
