THE SHINING Sequel DOCTOR SLEEP to Test Screen in Los Angeles on Wednesday! Here’s How to RSVP

One of the most hotly-anticipated horror movies of 2019 is the sequel to Stephen King’s The Shining, Doctor Sleep. For those unfamiliar with the source material, the novel features a grown-up Danny Torrance who’s struggling with alcohol addiction, just like his father, Jack. Along the way, he becomes the protector of a young girl being pursued by a supernatural cult that feeds off children with the ability to “shine”.

Though not slated to hit US theaters until November 8th, we’ve got a line on a screening taking place in Pasadena this Wednesday (May 8th, 2019). Though not announced as such, we’re assuming this is a test screening. That means if you are able to attend, you’ll most likely be quizzed on the film’s impact, its strengths and weaknesses.

It’s a normal part of the post-production process for most films, but in a sense, it’s an opportunity to potentially contribute to the final product. It could very well be a once in a lifetime opportunity for horror fans–especially aficionados of Stephen King.

So how do you score seats? Simply RSVP, HERE.

We’re still likely many weeks away from a trailer and/or official key art, but we’ll be keeping you abreast of all Doctor Sleep-related news as details emerge, so stay tuned and check back often.

Synopsis:
Years following the events of “The Shining”, a now-adult Dan Torrence meets a young girl with similar powers as his and tries to protect her from a cult known as The True Knot who prey on children with powers to remain immortal.

Doctor Sleep is directed by Mike Flanagan (Oculus, Gerald’s Game) who also penned the screenplay. The film stars Rebecca Ferguson, Ewan McGregor, and Jacob Tremblay.
