ROBODOC to Include Never-Before-Seen Footage from RoboCop
It’s an exciting time to be a RoboCop fan. Not only is Neill Blomkamp moving full steam ahead on his direct sequel to the original film, RoboCop Returns, but there’s also a documentary in the works. RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop promises to unveil never-before-seen footage from Paul Verhoeven seminal dystopian horror/sci-fi released in 1987.

RoboDoc is a feature-length fan-funded documentary exploring the making of the 1987 cult-classic, the sequels and its 30-year legacy.

In a violent, near-apocalyptic Detroit, evil corporation Omni Consumer Products wins a contract from the city government to privatize the police force. To test their crime-eradicating cyborgs, the company leads street cop Alex Murphy (Peter Weller) into an armed confrontation with crime lord Boddicker (Kurtwood Smith) so they can use his body to support their untested RoboCop prototype. But when RoboCop learns of the company’s nefarious plans, he turns on his masters.
