Open Water Duo Returns

Chris Kentis back to directtingThe duo behind Open Water, writer/director Chris Kentis and producer Laura Lau, have finally come out of hiding with a new project that they hope to follow-up their run away success of the aforementioned shark movie with. And no, it’s not Open Water 3: Sea of Terror.

Actually, the film is untitled as of now but will follow a woman who is accused of a crime she didn’t commit and the horrible psychological torture she goes through trying to defend herself. A bit vague, but it’s better than it just being called a “legal thriller”, no? Kentis wrote and will direct the film, which Daily Variety reports is looking at an early 2008 release via Paramount Village.

Kentis is set to helm Indianapolis, about the sinking of the titular WWII ship, which Lau is serving as producer on, as well. Based on when they are looking to have the legal thriller out, this is looking like it will go down before Indianapolis, which will be a much larger project for Warner Bros.
