Filmmaker Jeffery Thompson Jr. has sent us an exclusive preview from The Legend of the Bubbleheads, an animated short depicting a scene from his script for a planned live action horror film called The Bubbleheads, which will be a slasher set in rural Missouri. Whilst the clip only lasts for a few seconds, it still gives us a pretty clear indication of the overall tone and feel of the story Thompson is going for. His script for the The Bubbleheads has already received high praise from industry professionals, so we hope it enters production soon.
We also interviewed Thompson back in 2015, where he described his future plans in the horror industry. He previously released a short concept trailer for The Bubbleheads, so his new animated short will hopefully attract enough interest to bring the project one step closer to reality.
Thompson provided us with the following information about the animated short and his production company, Machina, which consists of his partners Dimas Seto Fijri, Raka Putra, Iqbal Ismi Naufal, Tom Connors, and Muhammad Rahmadyo Narendra. Purpose of the short: To show my directorial vision of what the film would look like and also that this can be a valuable IP. This would potentially be my feature directorial debut. I want producers and financiers to take me seriously and to do that, I am making this short animatic. We hope this can and will eventually go viral which will only add to the IP itself.
Production company: Machina started with Jeffery Thompson + Dimas Seto Fijri. Members include Raka Putra, Iqbal Ismi Naufal, Tom Connors, and Muhammad Rahmadyo Narendra. Were a group of geeks and nerds that love films, anime, comics, and video games. We have interesting and compelling stories to tell.
