Manage A Medieval Cemetery In Upcoming Game GRAVEYARD KEEPER

Despite being a game about the handling of dead bodies, the latest trailer for Graveyard Keeper is surprisingly peaceful. Or about as peaceful as a trailer for a game about handling dead bodies can be. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the trailer below:

As its name suggests, Graveyard Keeper (official website) is a management simulator which tasks you with taking care of a cemetery. The reason why you’re doing this is because the game’s protagonist was killed in a car accident (despite the fact that the story appears to take place in Medieval times), and is forced to watch over a graveyard for a length of time before his soul can truly move on.

But it’s not all digging holes and planting flowers, as you’ll also have to keep pesky ghosts and ghouls off your property. We can see from the alpha launch trailer that there will also be some combat elements, although the main focus of the game will be on the up-keeping of your graveyard. And don’t be fooled by the cutesy visuals either, because throughout the course of the game the player will engage in a number of gruesome tasks, including witch burning and performing autopsies. Not to mention the ethical dilemma of whether you should spend money on hotdog meat for a local festival when you already have a large supply of meat laying in the ground…

Graveyard Keeper is being developed by Lazy Bear Games, the folks behind Punch Club, and will be published by tinyBuild on PC and Xbox One. We can expect to see more of this very odd title at this month’s E3.
