Norman Reedus Getting Major Payday to Take the Lead on THE WALKING DEAD

Recently we passed along the sad(?) news that Andrew Lincoln will be leaving AMC’s The Walking Dead. Lincoln will be phased out in season nine in a fashion similar to co-star Lauren Cohan, who will film only six episodes of the series.
In that article, we mentioned that AMC is courting Norman Reedus to take the lead role, and today we have word on the huge amount the network is offering him.
Evidently according to THR AMC is offering Reedus a deal that will pay him more than $20 million!
Reedus has already begun work on season nine in Atlanta so I guess that means he has expected the offer, but as of this time, he has not yet commented on the epic deal. Do you think he’ll take it?
AMC declined comment.
