WINCHESTER Opens Its Doors On Home Video In The UK

After playing in cinemas earlier this year, Winchester has finally opened its doors on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK, so do yourself a favour and head over to Amazon to add this terrifying ghost movie to your collection.

Inspired by the true story of the building widely referred to as the ‘most haunted house in the world’, Winchester was directed by the Spierig Brothers, and stars Academy Award winner Helen Mirren alongside Jason Clarke, Sarah Snook, Finn Scicluna-O’Prey, and Angus Sampson.

To celebrate the home video release, Lionsgate and CBS Films, who co-distributed the film, teamed up with the London-based company Organic Marketing to bake a cake shaped like a Winchester House, and no, I didn’t get a slice. Which is probably for the best, as I’m already fat enough. However, we were sent some exclusive pictures of the cake, and it sure looks like it probably wouldn’t be very safe if I was around. Anyway, check out the pictures in the gallery below.

From the Press Release

Winchester The House That Ghosts Built is available to own on DVD and Blu-Ray from Monday 28th May

On an isolated stretch of land 50 miles outside of San Francisco sits the most haunted house in the world. Built by Sarah Winchester (Helen Mirren), the eccentric firearm heiress to the Winchester Repeating Arms fortune, it is a house that knows no end.

Renowned for its enormous size, its architectural curiosities, and its lack of any master building plan, the Winchester house was constructed in an incessant twenty-four hour a day, seven day a week mania for decades. It stands seven stories tall and contains hundreds of rooms with numerous oddities. To the outsider it looks like a monstrous monument to a disturbed woman’s madness. But Sarah is not building for herself, for her niece (Sarah Snook) or for the brilliant Doctor Eric Price (Jason Clarke) whom she has summoned to the house. She is building a prison, an asylum for hundreds of vengeful ghosts, and the most terrifying among them have a score to settle with the Winchesters.
