MURDER ME, MONSTER Takes A Bite Out Of Cannes

Things got bloody at this year’s Cannes Film Festival with the premiere of Argentinian director Alejandro Fadel’s gruesome creature feature Murder Me, Monster, which received a mostly positive review from The Hollywood Reporter.
Murder Me, Monster, which is called Muere, Monstruo, Muere in its native Spanish, a police officer is tasked with investigating the gruesome deaths of a series of woman in the rural Mendoza region of the Andes Mountains (where Fadel grew up), and whilst he initially begins to suspect several of the local residents, he soon discovers that the perpetrator of the killings may not be entirely human. A trailer for the film has yet to be released, and there aren’t any images of the titular monster available just yet, although Screen Daily (possible spoiler) describe it as having “dripping razor-sharp teeth and slithering tail”.
Fadel, whose previous films include The Wild Ones, White Elephant, and Panama Canal Stories, also wrote the screenplay for Murder Me, Monster, which stars Esteban Bigliardi, Francisco Carrasco, Tania Casciani, Victor Lopez, and Romina Iniesta. Should the film make a big splash at Cannes, we can probably expect to hear about international distribution in the near future.
