LUZ Evokes Zulawski’s POSSESSION With New Stills/Poster

I don’t know about you but I’m getting one hell of an Andrzej Żuławski’s Possession vibe from the first feature from German writer/director Tilman Singer’s film LUZ. Not that that’s a bad thing! In fact, the film may have just shot to the (near) top of my must-see list.
Especially considering the movie was shot on 16mm and contains “immersive sound and visuals that call to mind the experimental images of Giallo and 70s Spanish horror.” Ya, got me, LUZ. Hook, line, and possessed sinker.
The flick recently held its world premiere at Berlinale and screened at Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema. It will play at Fantaspoa before having its North American Premiere at Fantasia this summer. And today we have the film’s poster and some first-look stills for your viewing pleasure.

LUZ is written and directed by Tilman Singer and produced by Dario Méndez Acosta and Singer. The film features a brooding synth score composed by Simon Waskow and stars Luana Velis as Luz along with Jan Bluthardt and Julia Riedler.

Synopsis:
Fleeing from the grasp of a possessed woman, a distressed cabdriver begins a confession in a rundown police station that endangers everyone who crosses her path.
