Clive Paints Up The Train
Clive Barker is coming back to the horror genre in a big way this year. The master of torture has one project after another on his slate with the latest being Midnight Meat Train (“New Meat Train Pic” – June 21, 2007).
Our own Value was on hand today at the San Diego Comic Con to listen in as Clive dropped some blood about his upcoming work. According to Clive some his artwork will appear in a gallery during a scene from Midnight Meat Train. Also on Mr. Barker’s mind about this movie, about a photographer trying to track down a killer in NYC, was that he believes it is the best adaption of his work … EVER! Those are some mighty strong words; I really hope they are true.
The news didn’t end there. There was also word that in October filming will begin on an adaptation of The Book of Blood, a story involving a scam artist/television psychic who gets his comeuppance when real ghosts come after him during a haunted house investigation. Kick ass!
On a side note, Clive told those attending that when he approached the MPAA about his new films they replied, “Oh Christ! It’s the hook guy.” The MPAA … what a joke.
