Dark Horse Gets Creepy
When we first told you about the plans in place to bring back the classic horror titles Creepy and Eerie, old school horror anthology comics from the 60’s and 70’s (“Creepy & Eerie Re-launched” – February 25th, 2007) none of the specifics had been ironed out as to who would do what; all that was said is that Submarine Entertainment and Grand Canal Film Works had formed a new shingle, New Comic Co., with plans to work on comics, television series and movies.
Well, Variety is reporting today that at least one piece has fallen into place: Dark Horse Comics has been brought on board to start publishing both titles again, with re-issues of the original mag in archive editions as well as brand-new entries. Since Dark Horse has been making movies for a while now, they’ll also be involved with the film versions of some of the stories featured in Creepy and Eerie.
Getting in bed with Dark Horse definitely lends some legitimacy to what sounded like it might be a great idea without any real steam behind it at first. We’ll be sure to let you know when we hear more about what’s coming up next!
