TIFF 2017: Pyewacket Conjures a Poster

Back in 2015, Adam MacDonald gave genre fans Backcountry, the critically appreciated nature-horror film about a couple who get lost in black bear territory. This year, MacDonald will give us a new kind of terror in the form of Pyewacket, a film about a young woman who performs an occult ritual in an attempt to kill her mother. However, the ritual backfires and something else awakens… the poster for the film can be seen below.

The film, which was written and directed by MacDonald, will screen at this year’s TIFF.

Pyewacket stars Nicole Muñoz, Laurie Holden, Chloe Rose, Eric Osborne, James McGowan, and Bianca Melchior. It was produced by Andrew Bronfman, Jonathan Bronfman, Lori Fischburg, Victoria Sanchez Mandryk, Jeff Sackman, and Joe Sisto.

A frustrated girl attempts an occult ritual in order to kill her mother but awakens something sinister in the woods instead.
