Night Shade Books will be releasing The Devil’s Rosary on September 12th. What, you may ask, is The Devil’s Rosary? I’m glad you bring up that question, my dear reader! This book is the second in a five-volume series that collects the works of author Seabury Quinn, specifically those of Jules de Grandin, a supernatural detective whose stories appeared in the classic pulp magazine “Weird Tales”. This detective investigated the occult, devil worshippers, monsters, serial killers, and more, all set in the town of Harrisonville, New Jersey. Why that town stuck around with all that nonsense going on is a question for another day.

Anyways, the hardcover book features artwork from three-time Hugo Award-winning artist Donato Giancola. The press release adds, “Collected for the first time in trade editions, The Complete Tales of Jules de Grandin, edited by George Vanderburgh, presents all ninety-three published works featuring the supernatural detective. Presented in chronological order over five volumes, and including all thirty-two original Weird Tales covers illustrated for de Grandin stories, this is the definitive collection of an iconic pulp hero.

The Devil’s Rosary includes tales from “The Black Master” (1929) to “The Wolf of St. Bonnot” (1930).
