How Accurate is Death?
Variety had a story this morning about a brand-new horror/fantasy coming our way from NTV and Warner Bros. Japan called Shinigami no Seido which, when literally translated, means Accuracy of the God of Death. Goddamn; I’m not much of an aim myself, but I really hope the God of Death doesn’t miss more often than not.
The film, another good reason by Warner Bros. Japan is much cooler than Warner Bros. US (two more are Death Note and Death Note: The Last Name), follows Takeshi Kaneshiro’s (pictured) Grim Reaper, who spends a week with his potential victims before deciding to off them or not. What do you have to do to convince the Grim Reaper that you should live?
Warners are producing with NTV and will have the film in Japanese theaters next Spring, but no word was mentioned about when it or the Death Note movies might finally be heading to US shores. We’ll be keeping our ears open wide for more!
