Eyeborgs Gets Highlander
I just got an update from director Richard (Python) Clabaugh regarding the production of Eyeborgs, which I previously reported on back in early March (read it here).
Though the project started out sounding a bit Chopping Mall-ish, it’s really going to be more of a sci-fi action thriller about a Department of Homeland Security agent out to stop a plot to assasinate the President of the United States through the use of some killer robots that were originally designed to serve as high-tech surveillance and crimestoppers.
When last I’d heard, Eyeborgs was still in pre-production, just hoping to begin shooting before the end of summer. Now it turns out the film will have wrapped before the end of summer. Shooting has been ongoing for several weeks now and set to wrap next month. I can also now tell you that Eyeborgs stars Adrian Paul, set to return to the big screen soon in the “I can’t believe they made a worse sequel than The Quickening” Highlander: The Source. Co-starring in Eyeborgs alongside Paul are fan favorite Danny Trejo, Luke Eberl (Letters from Iwo Jima), and Megan Blake (The Opposite of Sex).
Clabaugh is quite happy with the heavy-on-action production thus far, and if you’ve taken a look at any of the teaser videos on the official Eyeborgs website, I’d agree. Check out the faux Homeland Security Promotional Video for some Eyeborgs-in-action coolness.
