Davis & Barker Get Operatic
First he managed to get metal to be mainstream again. Then he tried his acting chops out starring in the title role of the still-unseen Sin-Jin Smyth. Now Korn frontman Jonathan Davis is writing an opera. Seems like a pretty natural career arc to me.
AOL Music recently spoke with the singer, who revealed he’s been working with Richard Gibbs and the one and only Clive Barker on a opera entitled Oblivion which Davis said is, essentially, about the end of the world. The music is just now being written, and Davis told the site that he has no intention of starring in the eventual production. Sorry, folks.
Since he’s such a big fan of horror, Davis is also working on a coffee table book that will consist of his 12 favorite horror stories illustrated by his 12 favorite artists (wonder if Barker will fall on either side of those…) It’s good to see someone with the kind of money Davis has from Korn doing something to give back to us horror freaks who all dig his work so much.
