Gorman’s Poker Club to Big Screen
Variety got word this morning that the Ed Gorman novel The Poker Club is getting the film adaptation treatment, courtesy of a script by Cemetery Dance co-founders Richard Chizmar and Jonathan Schaech.
The Poker Club tells of a group of friends who accidentally kill a burglar during their weekly poker game and the subsequent effect the act has on their lives. Tim (Runaway) McCann will direct and Schaech, Johnny Messner, Loren Dean, Lori Heuring, Jana Kramer, Judy Reyes and Michael Risley are all signed to star.
The movie is shooting as we speak in New Jersey, so expect to hear more about it very soon! Along with founding Cemetery Dance and forming Chesapeake a few years back to produce horror films through, the screenwriting duo also penned the Bentley Little adaptation “The Washingtonians” (review) for Season 2 of Masters of Horror.
