The Hunger Games, first published in the fall of 2008, takes place in a society in which districts pay tribute in the form of a teenage boy and girl who are forced to fight to the death on live TV.
Set in post-apocalyptic America, the movie will introduce 16-year-old heroine Katniss Everdeen, who must participate in a fight-to-the-death annual event. Each battle will pit youths from each of the Capitol’s 12 districts against each other.
