Event Coverage – DC Crashes the Atomica Screening!

Syfy Films held a special screening of Atomica a few days ago at the iPic Theaters in Westwood, CA. The original title of the movie was Deep Burial, so I guess it’s apropos we were just a radioactive rock’s throw from the gravesites of Marilyn Monroe, Truman Capote, and Jackie Collins.

Following the screening in a super-plushy theater with reclining chairs and the whole bit, there was a private reception held at The Tuck Room Tavern. Members of the press got to press the flesh with the film’s stars, Dominic Monaghan (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, ABC’s “Lost”) and Sarah Habel (The CW’s “Riverdale,” Hostel: Part II), and director Dagen Merrill (Broken Hill, Beneath). The third big name (and basically, the third person) in Atomica, Tom Sizemore (Natural Born Killers, “Shooter”), was unable to attend, but Dagen told us he was thrilled to have an actor with his gravitas on board for such a small but pivotal role.

Atomica will be in select theaters on March 17th and VOD and Digital HD on March 21st. For more information on the film, visit Atomica on Facebook.

Synopsis:
In the near future, when communications go offline at a remote nuclear power plant isolated in the desert, a young safety inspector, Abby Dixon, is forced to fly out to bring them back online. Once inside the facility, mysterious clues and strange behaviors cause Abby to have doubts about the sanity, and perhaps identities, of the two employees onsite.
