Enjoy The Quiet Hour Courtesy of Vision Films

Who among us wouldn’t enjoy a nice quiet hour in the middle of our day? Unfortunately, we can’t make that happen for you, but what we do have is updated info on British sci-fi/horror film The Quiet Hour.

Vision Films landed distro rights to The Quiet Hour back in early 2015, and our patience has been rewarded as the film is finally available on VOD across North America. It’ll be available on DVD from Amazon next month.

From the Press Release:
The Quiet Hour, starring Dakota Blue Richards (The Golden Compass, “Skins”), Karl Davies (“Game of Thrones,” “Happy Valley”), Brigitte Millar (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix), and British TV star Jack McMullen, is now available on VOD and DVD across North America.

Written and directed by Stéphanie Joalland and produced by Sean McConville, The Quiet Hour is set in the aftermath of an alien invasion, following Sarah (Richards), a young girl trying to survive with her blind brother, Tom (McMullen), and Jude (Davies), a man who enters their lives seeking sanctuary.

The Quiet Hour was shot on location in Tipperary, Ireland. It has been shown to audience and critic acclaim at film festivals across the world and was previously released on Sky Cinema in the UK.

The film was executive produced by Ralph S. Bovard, JT O’Neal, and Thomas L. Carmody. The editor is Michael Freedman, the composer is Carlos Jose Alvarez, and the cinematographer is David Knight. It was produced by Joalland and McConville’s production company, Frenzy Films.

Sean McConville says: “We are very pleased to share The Quiet Hour with a North American audience and grateful to Lise Romanoff and her team at Vision Films for their passion and hard work regarding the film. I sincerely hope that the film resonates with an American audience attracted to intelligent, character-driven sci-fi.”

Stéphanie Joalland says: “I’m very excited that The Quiet Hour will be released in North America, and I hope sci-fi lovers will enjoy the film as much as I enjoyed writing and directing it!”

Humans are few and far between since Earth was invaded by unseen extraterrestrial machines that harvest the planet’s natural resources and relentlessly kill its inhabitants. In a remote part of the countryside, where starved humans have become as dangerous as the alien machines hovering in the sky, a feisty 19-year-old girl, Sarah Connolly, sets out on a desperate attempt to fight back a group of bandits and defend her parents’ farm, their remaining livestock, and the solar panels that keep them safe from extraterrestrials. If she doesn’t succeed, she will lose her only source of food and shelter; but if she resists, she and her helpless blind sibling will be killed. And if the mysterious intruder dressed like a soldier who claims he can help them turns out to be a liar, then the enemy may already be in the house.
