New VR Game Will Make You Face Your Fears
Evolve developer Turtle Rock Studios have announced a new VR game called Face Your Fears, in which you literally come face to face with your deepest and darkest phobias. It launches on Halloween.
From the Press Release:
Face Your Fears players encounter a variety of terrifying scenes based on people’s fears and phobias.
In Skyscraper, a player stands on the ledge of a skyscraper in the middle of a big city. When looking down, a giant robot is climbing up towards the player. In the Haunting, players experience the fear and excitement of being a little kid in bed in a room where things are not what they seem. What starts with a creaking house and distant thunder, crescendos into frightening moments that build up based on where the player is looking, or not looking. Face Your Fears launches on October 31, 2016.
“Ever since Phil Robb and I got a Rift demo at E3 a few years back, we knew we had to get into VR,” Chris Ashton, Co-Founder & Design Director at Turtle Rock Studios said. “It’s such an awesome, immersive experience. There is so much potential and so much to learn. Working with Oculus has been amazing for everyone on the team. VR leverages a lot of what we’ve learned while making AAA games for PC and console but the possibilities here feel endless. We’re breaking new ground and that’s something that has always spoken to the soul of TRS.”
