Anyone who’s ever been to Norway knows that the country is absolutely filled with some of the most beautiful forests and wilderness areas on Earth. However, as we learn from the new horror game Through the Woods (Facebook), although the forests may look picturesque on the outside, on the inside they may actually be harboring deep, dark secrets.

Developed by Norwegian studio Antagonist, Through the Woods does not yet have a release date, but as you see at the start of the trailer below, it’s already picked up a number of prestigious awards, so this is definitely a game that’s bound to be a winner.

Synopsis:
Through the Woods is a third-person psychological horror game set in a forest on the western shore of Norway about a mother and her missing son. Through dynamic narration, you play the mother’s re-telling of the events surrounding her son’s disappearance in a setting heavily influenced by Norse mythology and classic Japanese horror games.

The interrogation that covers the mother’s tale is never seen, only heard, as the actions unfolding on the screen have already happened. You control the past, shaping the story of the present.
