We all fear growing old. And even more so, we fear being alone in our old age. And although some of us won’t live to see old age, it’s something that most of us are going to have to face.

The new horror game The Grandfather, which has just been released on Steam, goes a step further by using dark fantasy elements to tell the apparently true story of an elderly man who was driven to depression after discovering that his wife no longer loves him.

Believe me; this is one grandpappy who won’t be wearing a Hawaiian shirt with slippers and telling kids to get off his lawn. Instead, we’ve got one damn crazy indie game with such a damn freaky looking art style that it will haunt your dreams for years to come.

Synopsis:
One night The Grandfather went to give his wife a good night kiss, and she ignored him as usual; this broke his heart every night. He went to sleep in his own bed, full of misery, but this night would turn out to be different from the others.

The Grandfather is a story-driven point & click puzzle/horror game about torment and sorrow. The Grandfather tells the sad tale of an old man who is tormented by the coldness of his wife (based on a true story).

Features:

– All hand-drawn comic book art
– Unique challenging puzzle types
– A procedural soundtrack
– Full narration by a voice actress

The Grandfather is a collaboration between Michael Patrick Rogers (creator of The Lady) and David Szymanski (creator of The Moon Sliver and Fingerbones).
