Worlds Collide in Melancholia Promo Art
Lars Von Trier is a filmmaker who’s really looking to leave his stamp not only on the genre but on film in general. If he keeps churning out stuff along the lines of Antichrist, he may just succeed. Now that the filmmaker is looking to tackle death and horror on an epic scale, it’s going to be very interesting to see just how his latest film, Melancholia, pans out.
As last reported, Penélope Cruz is still circling the film to play the lead as funding comes together. To further whet our appetites for more, and also to add further incentive to investors, Zentropa released the following bit of artwork to give all parties concerned a clear picture of how the end begins!
The film’s title refers to Planet Melancholia, an enormous planet that looms threateningly close to Earth. “No more happy endings!” commented Lars von Trier in an earlier story, who will direct from his own screenplay.
