8th Annual Rondo Hatton Award Nominees Announced
The nominees for the 8th annual Rondo Hatton Awards have been announced, and we here at Dread Central are beyond honored to be included in the Best Website (online magazine, message board, or tribute site) category, and our own Joe Moe has been nominated for best fan event with his Tribute to Forrest J Ackerman! Pretty sweet!
Nominees for the Rondo Awards are selected from suggestions by horror fans, pros, and enthusiasts offered all year at the Classic Horror Film Board. Each year’s nominees are finalized by classic horror fan David Colton with the help of more than 20 classic horror fans from around the world and with expertise in all parts of fandom.
With 30 categories ranging from Best Movie of 2009, Best Television Presentation, Best Classic DVD and DVD Collection, Best DVD TV Collection, Best Restoration, Best DVD Extra, Best Book of 2009, Best Convention or Film Festival of 2009, and even Controversy of the Year (just to name a few), the Rondos are all-encompassing and well deserving of the attention and respect they receive.
HOW TO VOTE: All voting is by e-mail only. Simply copy the ballot found on the Rondo Hatton Awards homepage (clicking the below graphic will also get you there), and send an e-mail with your picks to David Colton at taraco@aol.com by midnight, April 3, 2010. The winners will be announced on Sunday night, April 4, 2010
THE RULES: One vote per person, please. Every e-mail MUST include your name to be counted. But rest assured that all votes are kept strictly confidential. No e-mail addresses nor any personal information will ever be shared with anyone.
This year’s awards are dedicated to the memory of Jim Harmon, Michael Thomas, and Paul Naschy. Be sure to join in and cast your votes!
