Dread Central Visits the Set of Mirrors 2
This scribe just got in from a quick visit to the set of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment’s just-wrapped Mirrors 2, and while I can’t spill much yet regarding the Baton Rouge, Louisiana production (although horror fans can expect scenes featuring disembowelment, nudity and decapitation, among others), I can provide you a series of behind-the-scenes pics (see ‘em below), as well as an update on the Victor (Return to House on Haunted Hill) Garcia directed feature.
Penned by Matt (White Noise 2) Venne and starring Nick Stahl, Mirrors 2 is slated for a direct-to-DVD release, although producers of the flick are hoping for a theatrical run. Dread scored interviews on-location at Baton Rouge’s night club Boudreaux & Thibodeaux and down the street at the shuttered Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired with cast member Jon Michael Davis, producer Todd Williams, VFX supervisor Sean Findley and director Garcia, as well as KNB FX men Kevin Wasner and Alex Diaz (whose sense of humor is enjoyably sick – check out the ‘catalyst’ photo in our gallery), the latter of whom talked up their approach to the gore inherent to the project.
My thanks to Fox’s Lesley Chen for taking care of us while there. Full interviews to come, so stay tuned to Dread!
