Exclusive: Writer/Director George Nevada’s The Musk Carves Up a Teaser Trailer
Scarecrow horror flicks: There are a few of them out there, but rarely does anyone truly nail it. Brett Simmons’ Husk wasn’t bad, and William Wesley’s Scarecrows remains sorely underrated. That said, very few people have used scarecrows in an effective manner. (Full disclosure: I’ve never seen Frank De Felitta’s Dark Night of the Scarecrow, so feel free to abuse me in the comments.)
Writer/director George Nevada is tossing his straw hat into this hay-filled ring with The Musk, which tells the story of a farmer who disguises himself as a scarecrow to hide his physical mutations from the world. It seems this costume is also rather handy when it comes to murdering people. Fabrizio Occhipinti (as the mutant Tony Maio), Frances Williams, Antony Ferry, Raphael and Danny Willis (twins), Marcello Iaia, Ruby Miller, Francessca DiCaprio, and Gabrielle Bergère star.
If this sounds even remotely intriguing, then you should immediately investigate the teaser trailer for The Musk, which is lovingly embedded below. When you’ve accomplished this mission, take a moment to gawk at the handful of posters and stills from the flick. I’m definitely digging what Nevada and company have put together, and I really love the understated retro flavor the trailer is selling.
