Freefall Films Ramps Up Terror Train and Slaughter

Cary TagawaDetails are sketchy, but thanks to the Freefall Films website, we learned today that both the Terror Train remake and a new project called Slaughter (which has nothing to do with the film by the same name that played as part of After Dark’s Horrorfest III) are gearing up for production.

First up, with a projected start date of May, 2009, is Terror Train, not to be confused with the maybe it’s a remake, maybe it’s not Train starring Thora Birch, which we reported on some time ago. This version of Terror Train is directed by Alex Wright, and the basic gist of the story is as follows: Amy and her friend Stephanie are set for the ultimate party weekend, a Halloween fraternity bash aboard a moving train. But when a costumed psychopath starts killing the passengers one by one, it’s up to Amy to stop the murderer.

Next we have Slaughter, which is being helmed by Victor (Return to House on Haunted Hill) Garcia with Shawnee Smith and Cary Tagawa (The Swordsmith from “Heroes”, pictured) “in talks” to appear in the film. In this one four newbie actors get cast in the horror film of their dreams, but it turns out to be a nightmare when the film merges into non-fiction. Filming on Slaughter is scheduled to begin this August.

Keep your eyes here and on Freefall’s official site for more news on both projects as it comes. Thanks to Joey Monda for the heads-up!
