By now you’ve probably seen the Kid Cudi music video for the Fright Night 3D remake – a future B-Sides in the making, no doubt. But how does it compare to the J. Geils Band’s theme song from the original Fright Night?

J. Geils Band made quite a splash in the early Eighties with hits like “Centerfold” and “Love Stinks” and “Freeze Frame”. Lead singer Peter Wolf left the band in 1983 to pursue a rather unsuccessful solo career. Seth Justman took over the vocals for the band’s only album before breaking up in 1985.

The final song from J. Geils Band before fading into pop music oblivion would be the incredibly Eighties sounding title track from Tom Holland’s little 1985 vampire flick titled Fright Night

While the debate rages over the merits or lack thereof of the new Fright Night in 3D, here’s the last hurrah of J. Geils Band performing “Fright Night” from the now classic motion picture of the same name.
