Ahoy-hoy, Blood Babes! I just wanted to give a quick PSA about a little deal happening in the horror scene. As of today, voting begins for the Face of Horror competition, which yours truly is a part of!
Face of Horror? What are you talking about, Giallo?
I’m glad I asked! Let me give y’all the rundown.
Face of Horror is a contest where users vote on whoever contestant they want to win. Basically, you see someone you like, click on their link, and send in a vote.* Those who have the most votes move to the next phase, where they’re voted upon again, and so on. The competitor with the most votes at the end wins! What’s the prize? Well, let’s check the website real quick:
“One horror enthusiast will win $13,000, a walk-on role in an independent film, a 2-night stay at Buffalo Bill’s House, the iconic location from Silence of the Lambs, and go head-to-head with horror legend Kane Hodder in a photoshoot for Rue Morgue Magazine!”
*Edit: Facebook verification is required for a free daily vote. Multiple votes can be bought in tiers, helping to donate to the B+ Foundation, the largest provider of financial assistance to families dealing with pediatric cancer.
Not too shabby, huh? Of course, this does lead to a particular question that I’m sure is permeating all your minds: Who do I vote for?

Angel Bradford: Featured in my Actor Spotlight a few months back, Angel Bradford has been making quite the name for herself in the indie-horror scene. From placing in a SFX competition hosted by Tom Savini to acting in numerous recent productions (including Debbie Does Demons, The House That Eats Flesh, and Live, Laugh, Die), y’all will be seeing plenty more of her in the near future. Tammy Ebert: Having worked on such films as Voorhees: Night of the Beast (which I’ve featured) and The Lucid Cure, Tammy Ebert is a self-taught SFX artist that’s been a part of various haunted houses, theatres, and films. Melissa Sapienza: An up-and-coming actress in indie horror, Melissa Sapienza has acted in several productions, including Deathboard, The House That Eats Flesh, and Killer Campout Part II. She’s worked behind-the-scenes as well, having done the SFX for Killer Campout Part II and co-wrote a segment for 10/31 Part 3. To vote for Sapienza, use her voting link here!
Anthony Marinaro: Owner of Boogyman Studios, Anthony Marinaro is an FX artist that’s also a mask/prop maker. His company provides “some of the most screen accurate and unique custom masks on the market and more”! Brett Harris: A new face in the indie-horror landscape, Brett Harris started off his career as a YouTube stuntman before landing the starring role of the “KilleR RelliK” in the 2020 film, Samhain. He also played Randy in the Friday the 13th fan film, Dead by Dusk, and stars in the upcoming flick, 72, as Rich Korek. He was also the stunt coordinator on said films. Izzy Sutton: An indie filmmaker, SFX artist, and occasional actor, Izzy Sutton is no stranger to the horror genre. He said (and I quote): “Horror is my life, man!”. That’s a sentiment I can get behind, which should be surprising to no one. His credits include his feature film, Spring Fever, as well as several behind-the-scenes roles such as providing the SFX on several productions (Psycho Magnet, Mediatrix). James Grim: Director of the upcoming Friday the 13th fan film, My Special Boy, James Grim has produced and worked on several indie horror projects. Vanessa Ionta Wright: Someone else who I’ve featured recently, Vanessa Ionta Wright is the director of the upcoming Stephen King horror short, Deathroom.
